The KWRC will be hosting our annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup along tributaries and the main stem of the Kennebecasis river on Saturday, September 26th from 9:30am-12:00pm at Burton Park in Sussex and we invite anyone who wants to help with the cleanup to join us!
Please register with us at our blue tent in Burton Park when you arrive. We will provide everyone with gloves (mandatory), garbage bags, hand sanitizer and masks (if you don't have your own). Volunteers are invited to come back to Burton Park when they are done their cleanup to pick up a bagged lunch provided by our sponsors at Atlantic Superstore Sussex.
Every year, our volunteers collect between 200-500lbs of garbage during the cleanup up which is then diverted from our precious waterways to the proper waste management system in partnership with Regional Service Commission 8's Waste Transfer Station. "Many hands make light work" so we hope to get as many volunteers as possible! Please spread the word!
With the current pandemic on-going, Covid-19 protocols will be in place during the cleanup:
- volunteers should team up with members of their "bubbles" if possible - please maintain social distancing throughout the event - wear a mask when you cannot social distance (we can provide these) - all volunteers MUST wear gloves while cleaning up (we can provide these) - keep hands clean with gloves and hand sanitizer (we can provide these) We hope to see you there!

In his vocation as a remote online instructor/ facilitator, he stepped into the role of director of training and development for 2020/2021 with enthusiasm and commitment to move the training entirely online while providing engagement at a level unseen before. When he is not volunteering or facilitating the classroom; he is an import/ export consultant in 117 countries worldwide. Today he will be speaking about the online engagement for both Rotary International, the Leadership Institute, and the work being done at the district level.
