Name: Sheri Shannon, Rotary Club of Sussex President

Occupation: Director of development and donor relations, Inclusion New Brunswick, a nonprofit helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Joined Rotary: In 2017. My father was a Rotarian for 37 years in Fredericton, and when I moved to Sussex, I wanted to be more involved in the community.

Favorite Rotary activity: I really do enjoy the meetings. The reason I got involved with Rotary is the community involvement that we have. It’s just a time for us to gather, break bread and really try to come together because we’re all there to give back to the community and make it a better place for our families to grow and succeed. I enjoy the social aspect of Rotary. I love the time we have outside of our regular meetings and the friendships that I’ve formed.

Rotary goals: I want to continue the Rotary legacy of giving back by way of working with our stakeholders and assist them with projects that will better our community. I’d like to raise awareness of what Rotary is and what it stands for, and I’d like to increase our membership and its participation.
